Bb Training for Faculty

We facilitate training via the Blackboard User Community program, which provides comprehensive workshops in the use of Bb. Flex credit is available for all sessions.

Want to Teach Online for BC?

In order to be able to teach a hybrid or online course for BC, faculty must also successfully complete an online capstone workshop; Training for Online Instructors (TOI).

The above core 7 BbUC sessions are prerequisites for this capstone workshop. Contact BC's Distance Learning Coordinator, Dan Barnett, for more information.

Training credit choices

All faculty have one of two choices for how they can be compensated for participating:

1. Flex Credit
2. Professional Advancement Credit

• Associate Faculty (PDF)
• Full-Time Faculty (PDF)

Numerous tutorials on using the Bb system can be found in the Blackboard User Community, located within Blackboard, available to all BC faculty.

Faculty are encouraged to request a "Sandbox" or development course by using the "Course Shell Request Form" within the Bb User Community in Bb. instructors can practice the use of new tools and/or prepare content for a Course Copy to a live course. Students don't have access to this type of course.
