California Community College Course Exchange

Students completing units at any of the participating Exchange Colleges may be eligible to combine units with Butte College to determine financial aid eligibility under the Exchange Federal Financial Aid Consortium Agreement. Under the Consortium Agreement, units taken at an Exchange Teaching College may be combined with units taken at Butte College to maximize financial aid eligibility for all courses in the student's program of study.

Butte College as the Home College

Butte College Financial Aid Office will process and disburse federal, state and local financial aid based on the students' enrollment eligibility. Students who would like to apply for the Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOG Fee Waiver) to waive the enrollment fees at the Teaching College will need to contact the Teaching College Financial Aid Office.

Example: Butte Brady is enrolled in 6 units at Butte College (Home College) and enrolled in 3 units through the California Community College Exchange program at Fresno City College (Teaching College). Butte Brady submits a Financial Aid Consortium Agreement Student Request Form to have units from the Teaching College combined with units taken at Butte College in order to maximize financial aid eligibility based on enrollment status and program eligibility.

Butte Brady is now eligible to receive financial aid based on Three Quarter-time enrollment. Only courses taken within the students program of study or courses required for transfer to a UC or CSU will be eligible to combine for maximum financial aid.

Please submit the Financial Aid Consortium Agreement Student Request Form to the Butte College Financial Aid Office. You may also submit your form by email to courseexchange@butte.edu or by fax to (530) 895-2214.
