EOPS POWER Center Tutoring

Providing Opportunity With Educational Resources

• Are you a current or upcoming EOPS Student?
• Are you in need of tutorial assistance?

The Butte College EOPS Program provides students with tutorial support to help them achieve a greater degree of academic success.  Students who develop useful study habits and utilize tutoring have been found to be more successful in their courses. At the EOPS POWER Center we provide one-on-one tutoring in:

• Math
• English
• Basic Skills
• Essay Writing
• Other selected subjects

Our tutors are qualified, friendly and trained to help students succeed. Tutoring is also available in the comfort and privacy of our break-out rooms. Appointments (including recurring) are recommended, but students also can drop in for assistance if a tutor is available.

The MATH Project

The POWER Center offers the Math Success Project for Math 108 and MATH 124. The main components of the project include:

• Instructional support
• Tutor involvement in the selected Math Project classes
• Content review
• Help with homework
• Test preparation
• Textbook

The Math Project has a proven record of success!  Course completion rate and GPA outcomes consistently outpace those of students not in the Project.

The Power Center is located in the LRC building within the Center for Academic Success (CAS). Students should check in at the CAS front desk and take an immediate right where the wall ends. Enter LRC 204 to sign up for an appointment.
