1. History of Campus

  • Largest community college campus (acre-wise) in California – 928 acres
  • Wildlife sanctuary
  • Wildlife seen on or near campus: Rattlesnakes, Deer, Quail, Bats, Skunks, Raccoons
  • More than 21,800 students attend Butte each school year
  • Operates the largest community college transportation system in California
  • Moved to current site from Durham in 1974
  • Has Glenn County Center in Orland and Chico Center in Chico
  • 44% of the Butte College Main Campus is powered through solar energy. This makes the college the largest solar producing campus in the state.
