Students who attend the Butte County Office of Education's After School Programs will participate at the 7th Annual "Kids Challenge" held at Butte College April 2, from 2-5:30 pm. at the main campus, 3536 Butte Campus Drive. A total of 23 schools throughout Butte County will be participating including over 400 students and parents/guardians.
Students arrive at 2 p.m. and receive a tour of the campus by tour guides from the college. Following the tour, students will enter the gym to receive a welcome from Butte County Superintendent Tim Taylor and Butte College President, Dr. Kimberly Perry. There will also be a special appearance by the Butte College Roadrunner "Dash" who will be throwing out footballs to students. At 3 p.m., students will cheer on one representative from their schools in a competitive academic trivia tournament. Winning teams will earn a plaque and a gift certificate. The event helps promote the benefits of attending college to students at an earlier age.
