Butte College is finalizing preparations for the first week of the Fall semester on Monday, August 26.
Student enrollment a week prior to the start of the semester is 12,409 students. Enrollment is up approximately 2.25 percent over Fall 2012.
"Our enrollment numbers tend to fluctuate during the first two weeks of school, as students add or drop classes," according to Clinton Slaughter, Director of Admissions.
"There are more classes available this semester thanks to the passage of Proposition 30 by voters. In the last three years, we had to cut back on some classes due to budget cuts, and this semester, we've been able to accommodate more students."
To help students with questions about classes or assist with available classes Student Services staff will again be providing a Scheduling Assistance Center. It will be open to students Monday, 8/26, through Wednesday, 8/28.The Scheduling Assistance Center provides a resource to students who need help searching for classes or need assistance from a Counselor. The Scheduling Assistance Center is located in the Student and Administrative Services Building at the Main Campus, 3536 Butte Campus Drive, First Floor, Room 118 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Additionally, the college provides "Ask Me" tables with staff along main walkway areas at the main campus to assist students the first week of school.
