The Butte College Foundation presents its annual Spring Gala on Saturday, March 14 at the CSU, Chico Bell Memorial Union, starting at 6 p.m. This year's event will recognize four distinguished alumni: Daryl Bender, a teacher at Sierra View School; Julia Sabin, Vice President and General Manager, Smucker Quality Beverages, Inc.; James Broshears, retired fire chief from the Town of Paradise; and Kyle Lohse, starting pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals.
"Each year, the Butte College Foundation honors alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions and their communities. The individuals selected as our ‘Alumni of the Year,' represent our many alumni who are making a difference every day. The four honorees are talented, extraordinary individuals who serve as role models for our current students and others," said Diana Van Der Ploeg, Butte College President.
The event includes a silent auction, live auction, dinner, and music by the Swing Kings. Tickets are $75 per person and all funds benefit the Butte College Foundation and Athletics Program.
"The evening promises to be a night of fun with all funds benefiting the Butte College Foundation and athletics programs," said Chuck Rough, Butte College Foundation President. "The college has so many alumni working and contributing in so many ways in our community. We encourage alumni to attend this event, meet other alumni, and learn more about how they can help support Butte College students."
