Tickets are now on sale for the Butte College Performing Arts production of "RENT"--the 90's rock musical performed in the new state-of-the-art black box theatre, at the main campus, 3536 Butte Campus Drive.

Our new theatre is one-of-a-kind in Northern California and it promises to be an amazing experience for everyone,” said Barry Piccinino, Butte College drama instructor and director. “We encourage the community to come to Butte College’s main campus for this wonderful production, featuring a highly talented group of actors.”
Johnathan Larson's rock musical is the breathtaking and inspiring story of a group of New York City East Village artists, struggling to find their voices and find love in today's tough times. Based on Giacomo Puccini's classic 1896 opera, La Boheme--"RENT", boasts a talented, young and energetic cast singing some of Broadway's most powerful songs, broaching controversial themes like homelessness, aids, and drug addition with compassion and thrilling audiences with it moving tale of hopes and dreams. While on Broadway, "RENT" gained acclaim and won a Tony Award for the best musical among other awards.
The production is directed by Butte College instructor, Barry Piccinino with musical direction by Tamara Allspaugh. Tickets are now on sale for show dates including: November 5-7 at 7:30 p.m.; November 13-14 at 7:30 p.m.; and November 15 at 2 p.m. Ticket Prices include: $10 student with id; $15 general; and $20 premium tickets featuring RENTHEADS seats in the first four rows.
