Butte College's Roadrunner Racing Team Hosts Fundraiser for Make A Wish Foundation
The Butte College Motorsports Dynamics class clinched first place in the 2008 San Francisco Region of the Sports Car Club of America for their T-3 class-but there was a final challenge remaining. The final challenge for the Butte College Motorsports Dynamics class is to race the yellow Honda Roadrunner in the "25 Hours of Thunderhill" fundraising event on December 6-7, rain or shine, to raise funds for Make-A-Wish children in Butte and Glenn counties.
"Our students have a goal of raising $6,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Students will earn funds by receiving pledges for every lap the Roadrunner does over the two day event. The community is invited to participate in this event to benefit children in our communities," said Tom Baird, Butte College Automotive Department chairman.
Immediately after the race, the Honda S2000 Roadrunner will be dismantled for educational purposes and any spare parts will be turned into scrap metal.
