Student Financial Aid at Butte College

OROVILLE -- Butte College wants to help all eligible students get the assistance needed for their education.

"There are many students who are eligible for aid who have not applied. We can help students and support them in getting the financial support they need for college," says Karen Micalizio, Butte College Financial Aid Director.

Financial Aid staff can assist students in completing their applications. Students who have already applied for aid may also get assistance checking on the status of their grants, making corrections to current applications and renewing their FAFSAs. All students wishing to apply for or renew their FAFSA must bring their 2007 tax returns or W2s.

Completing the FAFSA is the key to receiving a Butte College Board of Governors' waiver for class fee costs and Federal Pell Grant monies, which may be used for tuition, text books and room and board.

In the 2007-08 school year, 4,400 Butte College students were awarded Pell Grants and Micalizio believes more students will qualify for assistance this year.
