Butte College Hosted Career & Transfer Day
OROVILLE - Butte College held its annual Career & Transfer Day at the main campus.
The event is designed to offer the general public, prospective students and current students the opportunity to learn more about the college's programs and departments. Students can meet faculty, talk with business people about their careers and obtain information about transferring to four-year colleges or universities.
"This event provides current and prospective students with information about the programs we offer, along with the many options available to transfer to a four year college or university," explains Jo Anna Birdsall, Butte College Director of Career and Employment Services.
More than 600 students from Butte and Glenn Counties have confirmed their attendance and Birdsall is expecting many more to participate.
The Butte College Transfer Counseling Center helped sponsor the event which helped students transfer to four year institutions. Students are encouraged to attend to inquire about transfer opportunities with other colleges and learn more about requirements for admission, majors, financial aid, housing, and more.
"Community members are welcome to learn more about the many career options we offer. We've seen professionals and retirees who want to learn a new career or take a fun language or computer class," said Birdsall.
Among the Butte College programs represented include biological sciences, social and behavioral sciences, business education, child development, family relations, and more. Representatives from financial aid, student services, faculty and academic counselors will also be available.
