Glossary of Transmission Related Concerns
Shudder:
You can feel a rhythmic vibration in the seat or steering wheel when the transmission shifts.
Shift Flair:
The tachometer jumps up or you can hear the engine rev up during up shifts.
Harsh Shift:
The transmission has a harsh up or down shift; can feel in the seat or steering wheel.
Slow/No Engagement:
When put into gear, transmission acts like it's in neutral then engages. Engine may rev up while in gear with no movement.
