Nov. 12th

The Lady Roadrunners closed the 2013 season with a 14-0 rout of College of the Redwoods. Cynthia Ramirez led the scoring with four goals and became the first Roadrunner to have three hat tricks in a season. Crystal Torres and Taylor Mundy had two goals apiece. Maggie Ramirez, Caitlin McCoy, and Mayra Sanchez all contributed a goal and Lindsey Moore, Rose Alaniz and Brenda Lopez had a goal and assist each. Georgia Gregory and Bryanna DeLucia also added assists in the victory. Cydney Cone and Kristen Paul were in the goal for the shut out.

Nov. 8th

The Lady Roadrunners dropped another GVC match on the road to Lassen College, yielding two goals in each half again, 4-0. Cydney Cone was in goal with six saves. Butte College closes out the 2013 season at home with College of the Redwoods on Tuesday playing at 12:00 PM.

Nov. 5th

Butte was back in action in a rematch with Feather River College in Quincy. This time however, the match did not go as planned as the Golden Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead. “We made several adjustments and our team responded very well, unfortunately we just could not find a goal today.” FRC was able to put the game out of reach with two second half goals as the match ended 4-0. Cydney Cone made seven saves on the day in goal.

Oct. 29th

The Lady Roadrunners dropped a home match in GVC play to visiting Feather River College 3-2. Georgia Gregory found a goal to tie it up early in the first half at 1-1. Crystal Torres assisted a Cynthia Ramirez goal to make it 2-1 at the half. The second half saw back and forth action as visiting FRC tied up the match. As Butte pushed ahead to try and find the tying goal FRC struck again and withheld a late Roadrunner push as the match ended 3-2. Cydney Cone was in goal with seven saves.

Oct. 22nd

The Lady Roadrunners drew with visiting Shasta College 0-0 in GVC play. The match again saw Butte with opportunities but unable to convert. “The tempo and energy was very good especially in the second half as we worked for the win. Unfortunately the game does not always reward the effort. I am, however, pleased with the way we responded and worked to try and earn the win.” Sophomore Cydney Cone was in goal with five saves.

Oct. 18th

Sophomore Serena Reynolds led the Lady Roadrunners in an 8-0 rout of College of the Redwoods at home with three goals and an assist. Cynthia Ramirez also added two goals, Maggie Ramirez had two goals and an assist and Georgia Gregory had a goal and an assist. Crystal Torres had three assists and Cassie Ramirez added an assist. Cydney Cone was in goal for her fifth shutout of the year.

Oct. 15th

The Lady Roadrunners tied Shasta College on the road in GVC play 0-0. Butte created opportunity after opportunity but was unable to put away a goal. Cydney Cone was in goal with two saves. Butte is back in action at home with College of the Redwoods on Friday as it starts its final home stretch of 2013.

Oct. 11th

The Lady Roadrunners got back on track in GVC action by defeating host College of the Redwoods 8-0. Butte was led by Cynthia Ramirez who had three goals and an assist. Serena Reynolds, Crystal Torres, Mackenzie Dorn, and Jamie O’Brien each contributed a goal and an assist a piece. Maggie Ramirez also had a goal and Caitlin McCoy had two assists with Mayra Sanchez contributing with an assist. Cydney Cone was in goal with four saves for her third shutout of the year.

Oct. 8th

Butte was back at home in GVC action against Lassen College. The match was a wild affair as the Lady Cougars took a 3-1 advantage into the half. Cynthia Ramirez found a goal in the 43rd minute off a Mayra Sanchez assist. The goal gave the Lady Roadrunners momentum going into the half and the second half continued with Butte pressing the action. Cynthia Ramirez found two more goals for the first hat trick of 2013, Sanchez earned her second assist and Serena Reynolds assisted the third goal. Cydney Cone was in goal with another strong effort with 6 saves on the day. Butte continues GVC action, travelling to Eureka on Friday to play College of the Redwoods.

Oct. 4th

The Lady Roadrunners dropped a GVC match on the road to Feather River College 4-2. Caitlin McCoy connected with Georgia Gregory as Butte ended the first half trailing 3-1. Second half action saw Serena Reynolds assist Cynthia Ramirez. Butte continued to press the action but could not close the gap as the match ended 4-2. Cydney Cone was in goal with 11 saves.

Oct. 1st

The Lady Roadrunners were on the road in GVC action against Lassen College where they tied 1-1. It was a back and forth physical match which saw Lassen strike first in the 15th minute. Butte found the equalizer when Mackenzie Dorn struck a loose ball in the box served from Serena Reynolds. The second half was intense and physical as neither side could gain an advantage in the scoring line. Cydney Cone was in goal with 10 saves to preserve the tie. Conference road play continues as Butte travels to Feather River College on Friday.

Sept. 27th

Butte opened Golden Valley Conference play at home against Shasta College. The match saw Butte control action in the first half but was unable to convert. The second half was more of the same as the Lady Roadrunners pressed the action but were unable to find a goal as the match ended in a 0-0 tie. Cydney Cone was goal with five saves on the day. Butte continues GVC play on Tuesday as they head to Lassen College.

Sept. 20th

The Lady Roadrunners finished their rigorous non-conference schedule on the road at Delta College where the Lady Mustangs dealt Butte a 1-0 loss. The play was back and forth through the entire match, Delta struck in the 25th minute and the Roadrunners worked hard to find the equalizer the rest of the way but were unable to find the back of the net. Sophomore Cydney Cone had another outstanding outing with 10 saves. “Our non-conference schedule is used to prepare us for conference play. I feel that even though the scoring line was not in our favor we are heading into conference in a much better position than even a week ago. Our group is excited for the upcoming challenge of GVC competition.”

Sept. 17th

The Lady Roadrunners got back into the win column at home in a big way with a 9-0 win over Los Medanos College. The match saw seven different Roadrunners score goals: Rose Alaniz scored two goals and also had an assist, Cynthia Ramirez also scored two goals, Mackenzie Dorn had a goal and an assist, Serena Reynolds, Georgie Gregory, Lindsey Moore, and Jamie O,Brien all added a goal each. Caitlin McCoy added two assists in the victory. Cydney Cone and Acacia Jennings-Schuman split time in goal for the shut out. Butte is back on the road again Friday as they complete preseason play at Big 8 opponent Delta College.

Sept. 13th

Butte’s grueling preseason schedule continued as the Lady Roadrunners suffered another defeat at the hands of their host Modesto Junior College 3-0. Play was even most of the match but lapses in concentration and organization by Butte lead to their opponent’s goals. Cydney Cone was again active in goal with 13 saves. “We are definitely sorting through some team concepts and while the scoring line has not been in our favor this week I feel we are making positive strides and will be ready to implement some lessons learned in next week’s matches.” said Coach Salindong. Butte is back in action at home on Tuesday hosting Los Medanos College.

Sept. 10th

The Lady Roadrunners were on the road against Big 8 opponent Cosumnes River College were they were defeated 4-2. The match saw Butte trailing at the half 1-0. As play opened in the second half the Lady Hawks jumped ahead to a three goal lead but Butte continued to press and finally broke through in the 79th minute when Serena Reynolds found the back of the net off of a Maggie Ramirez assist. Seven minutes later Reynolds assisted a Georgia Gregory goal. With momentum in their favor Butte pressed on for the equalizer. However on this day it was not to be as Cosumnes beat the Butte back line in transition in the final seconds of the match for their fourth goal. Goalkeeper Cydney Cone was in goal with five saves. Butte’s rigorous preseason continues as the Lady Roadrunners travel to Modesto Junior College, another Big 8 team, on Friday.

Sept. 6th

Butte College was at home in action again downing visiting Yuba College 4-1. The match was conservative on both sides as the game went 0-0 to the half. The Lady Roadrunners opened up in the second half early as Caitlin McCoy found the back of the net 48 minutes in off of a Crystal Torres assist. Serena Reynolds found the second goal several minutes later as she collected a ball dribbled several players and scored. Reynolds struck again for Butte’s third goal when she converted a Georgia Gregory pass. The final goal was sent home by Taylor Mundy from a Samantha Schulte serve. Cydney Cone had an uneventful match in goal with two saves.  

Sept. 4th

The Lady Roadrunners hosted their 2013 home opener and defeated North State power American River College 4-1. The scoring opened five minutes into the match when sophomore Mayra Sanchez converted on a penalty kick. Georgia Gregory scored off a Crystal Torres assist to take Butte into the half with a two goal lead. The second half saw two more goals, Cynthia Ramirez played a ball through to Caitlin McCoy who slotted the Beaver goalkeeper to make it 3-0. The final Butte goal came when Crystal Torres punched home a loose ball on the corner of the penalty area. Sophomore Cydney Cone was active in goal with several spectacular touches and 12 total saves on the day. Butte hosts Yuba College this Friday for its second home match.

Aug. 31st

The Lady Roadrunners were back in action in tournament play against Folsom Lake College. Butte fought a back and forth battle with Folsom and yielded a goal 25 minutes into the half. The game went to the half trailing 1-0. The second half saw several chances from Butte that were denied by Folsom’s back line. Another tough stretch of play saw Butte give away two consecutive goals in the middle of the second half. Cydney Cone was stellar in goal again with 11 saves and denying Folsom on several opportunities to keep the match tight for the Lady Roadrunners. “As a group we are definitely learning and applying our lessons from previous games. Our rigorous preseason schedule will pay off as we continue to improve.”

Aug. 30th

Butte was on the road in action against Bay Valley Conference Champion Mendocino College. The match was back and forth in the first half which saw Caitlin McCoy find the back of the net off of a Crystal Torres assist. The game went to the half with the Lady Roadrunners trailing 2-1. The second half of play opened with Butte looking to break through for the tying goal but a tough 10 minute stretch where Butte yielded two more goals put the Lady Roadrunners down 4-1. “We play a strong preseason schedule to work through our areas which need improvement. We played a quality side well and were punished during a stretch where our concentration broke. I am confident our group will learn from this and continue to improve.“ Sophomore Cydney Cone was in goal with 12 saves and had a fantastic outing to keep her side close for a majority of the match.

Aug. 27th

The Lady Roadrunners opened the 2013 campaign with a solid showing on the road against Yuba College. Butte struck first when Serena Reynolds found the back of the net off of a Cynthia Ramirez assist in the 28th minute. Yuba soon equalized and the game went to the half 1-1. The second half opened play with Butte pressing the action. 59 minutes in Butte found the go ahead goal as Kristen Paul finished a Jamie O’Brien cross. The Lady Roadrunners added a third goal in the waning minutes of regulation play when a Serena Reynolds cross found Caitlin McCoy. McCoy’s finish closed out the game as Butte won their season opener 3-1. Sophomore Cydney Cone was in goal with seven saves for the day.
