Nov. 17th

The Lady Roadrunners were on the road in NorCal Regional playoff action at Coast Conference Champions, Evergreen Valley College. The first half saw back and forth physical play on both sides. Evergreen took a 2-0 lead but Butte’s Julie Haselton cut the lead in half with a stellar goal from a Rose Alaniz assist in the 25th minute. The momentum shifted and Butte continued to press the rest of the half searching for the equalizer. The second half started as both sides battled to reestablish the momentum. The Lady Roadrunners gave up a penalty kick in the 65th minute putting the game at 3-1. Butte then pressed to try and find a goal and gave up 2 late goals as the match ended 5-1. “We have had a fantastic season and the scoring line does not accurately reflect the intensity and energy put forth by our squad. When we went down 3-1, we felt that we needed a goal to get back into it. Doing this exposed us to the counter attack. Our group played to the final whistle and we are so proud of their effort throughout the entire season.”

Nov. 9th

The Lady Roadrunners were on the road in non-conference action at Feather River College to close out the regular season. Butte defeated the Lady Eagles 2-0 on a snow covered field. Julie Haselton opened the scoring with an assist from Katie Brandt. The second goal found Julie assisting Katie. Brandt’s goal moved her ahead of Crystal Bailey as Butte College’s all-time career points leader. Cydney Cone had another outstanding showing between the posts with 6 saves for her fourth shutout of the year. The NorCal seeding meeting will be Tuesday the 13th and will determine Butte’s opponent in the Regional Tournament.

Nov. 6th

The Lady Roadrunners secured their fourth GVC Championship in seven seasons as they downed host Shasta College 1-0. The match was back and forth and was hard fought and evenly played through out. In the 70th minute Julie Haselton found the back of the net off of a Katie Brandt assist. That was all Butte needed and Cydney Cone finished the match with 12 saves. “Shasta came to play today and our side was up to the challenge. It was a back and forth, physical match, we are so proud of our group and their ability to realize a goal they had set in the beginning of the season.” Butte is on the road in their regular season finale playing Feather River College in non-conference action on Friday.

Oct. 27th

Butte College was on the road at Hartnell College where they got back in the win column with a 6-3 victory. Katie Brandt led the way with four goals. Julie Haselton had a goal and two assists and Malissa McRae had a goal. Serena Reynolds assisted on three goals and Mayra Sanchez also had an assist. Cydney Cone was in goal with 8 saves. The Lady Roadrunners travel to Shasta College for their final GVC match on November 6th.

Oct. 23rd

Butte College was on the road again playing at host Lassen College. Jaymi Hill started off the scoring by finishing a corner kick which had bounced around the goal mouth. The second goal came when Katie Brandt scored off a Julie Haselton assist. Lassen continued to press and found a goal at the end of the half. As the second half started play was end to end for both teams but Lassen found the equalizer. The Lady Roadrunners pressed the final 20 minutes where they saw several opportunities denied by solid goalkeeping and the post. Cydney Cone was in goal with 6 saves on the day and the game ended in a 2-2 tie. Butte travels down the coast this weekend for non-conference action against Monterey and Hartnell College.

Oct. 19th

The Lady Roadrunners were back on the road after a 3 week home stretch going to rival Feather River College in GVC action. The match was back and forth and Butte struck first when Julie Haselton scored off a Serena Reynolds assist. Trying to take the lead into the half FRC found the equalizer off a corner kick tying the match 1-1. FRC took the lead 65 minutes in, Butte continued to press the final 25 minutes and their persistence paid off as Mayra Sanchez found the back of the net to tie the match in the 90th minute. Cydney Cone was in goal with 7 saves. Butte continues their road campaign as they are in GVC action at Lassen College on Tuesday.

Oct. 16th

The Lady Roadrunners hosted their final home game of 2012 against Marin College. Butte earned their second shutout of the season en route to defeating Marin 5-0. Julie Haselton started the scoring off of a Jaymi Hill assist. Hill added two goals and a second assist in the victory with Maddie Stringer and Katie Brandt also finding the back of the net. Serena Reynolds had two assists and Julie Haselton also added an assist. Cydney Cone was in goal with 7 saves. Butte now travels to Feather River College to begin the second half of GVC play on Friday.

Oct. 9th

Butte College concluded the first half of GVC play with a 2-2 tie at home to Lassen College. The match saw back and forth action with intense physical play. Katie Brandt assisted Julie Haselton on the first goal and Serena Reynolds assisted Julie’s second goal. The Lady Roadrunners held off a late Lassen push to preserve the tie. Cydney Cone was in goal with 3 saves on the day.

Oct. 5th

The Lady Roadrunners hosted GVC rival Feather River College in a tough back and forth match that saw Katie Brandt strike first for Butte College. Butte could not hold the lead, however and the Lady Eagles found the equalizer as the first half ended in a 1-1 tie. The second half saw much of the same as both sides battle for control on the field. A Julie Haselton goal put the Roadrunners ahead for good in the 68th minute. Cydney Cone had another solid outing in goal with 8 saves and turned away several FRC chances in the second half. “We are so proud of our group, we have come together and are playing with intensity , emotional and a great will to win. “

Oct. 2nd

Butte opened GVC play today by defeating Shasta College 5-1 at home. Julie Haselton opened up the scoring by finding the back of the net twice in the first half. Crystal Torres found the third goal and Katie Brandt added two more. Katie also added two assists and Crystal Torres, Julie Haselton, and Serena Reynolds also had assists during the win. Cydney Cone was in goal with 8 saves. Up next is conference rival Feather River College on Friday at home.

Sept. 28th

The Lady Roadrunners were back on the road where they earned a 3-1 victory over host Napa Valley College. Sophomore Katie Brandt had her third career hat trick as a Roadrunner where she was assisted by Serena Reynolds, Crystal Torres, and Malissa McRae. Cydney Cone was in goal with 8 saves. Butte opens GVC play on Tuesday against Shasta College and begins a four match home stretch.

Sept. 21st

The Lady Roadrunners got into the win column in a big way on the road against Los Medanos College by defeating host LMC 7-0. The scoring opened off of a Serena Reynolds assist from a corner kick that Jaymi Hill headed home 17 minutes into the match. It was all Butte from then on as Katie Brandt had 2 goals and an assist, Julie Haselton also added a goal and 2 assists. Maddie Stringer, Vanessa Ramos and Dani Pranin all added goals in the match. Crystal Torres and Lindsey Moore also had an assist each on the day. Cydney Cone was quite in goal today with her first shut out of 2012 where she had to make no saves in the match.

Sept. 18th

The Lady Roadrunners were home against another Big 8 & state power in Cosumnes River College. Butte played another exciting and hard fought match which ended in a 1-1 tie. The opening minute saw the Roadrunners hit the crossbar and post twice but they were unable to convert in the first half. Trailing 1-0 at the half Butte College step up the pressure and found the tying goal 75 minutes in when Katie Brandt scored off of a Julie Haselton cross. The final 15 minutes saw numerous opportunities for Butte but they were unable to convert. Cydney Cone had another outstanding outing in goal with 5 saves on the day.

Sept. 14th

Butte was on the road at Modesto Junior College playing one of the state’s elite where they tied 1-1. The first 90 seconds saw the only two goals of the game and the rest of the match had both sides playing up and down the field looking for the game winner. Julie Haselton scored off of a Katie Brandy assist a minute and half in to tie the game. Cydney Cone was up to the task and denied MJC at every opportunity ending the day with 17 saves. The defense also held strong as the Lady Pirates pressed. “Overall it was an outstanding performance against one of the state’s best. Although we did not earn the result we are progressing very well against quality opponents and we are confident the results will come.”

Sept. 11th

The Lady Roadrunners were home again against Yuba College where they played inspired and intense soccer. The first half saw a momentary lapse that Yuba was able to capitalize on. Although Butte trailed most of the match they took the action to the Lady 49ers outshooting them 18-4. Butte finally struck when Maddie Stringer found the back of the net off of a Serena Reynolds assist. Cyndey Cone was in goal with 4 saves on the day as the match ended in a 1-1 tie.

Sept. 8th

The Lady Roadrunners were at home again in action against visiting Taft College where they were defeated 4-1. Serena Reynolds connected with Jaymi Hill on the lone goal and Cydney Cone was in goal with 6 saves. “We played well for stretches and we are learning that consistency is the key. The score does not reflect our effort and the way we managed the game and I know our group will be ready to get back out there against Yuba on Tuesday.”

Aug. 31st

The Lady Roadrunners were back in action against one of the state’s best in American River College. Butte dropped a tight 2-1 decision to the perennial north state power. Serena Reynolds assisted Natalie Jones on the Butte goal which tied the match 1-1 but a late first half goal gave ARC the lead again. The second half saw back and forth action with neither side being able to convert on any scoring opportunity. Cydney Cone was stellar in goal with 13 saves on the day. “We played with heart, intensity and discipline today. What our team demonstrated was a complete 180 from Tuesday and we did it against one of the best teams in state. We all feel the results will come as we continue to improve. “

Aug. 28th

The Lady Roadrunners opened the 2012 season with a home loss to Mendocino College. The visiting Lady Eagles were able to capitalize on a shaky first half and jump out to a 3-0 lead. In the second half the host Roadrunners stepped up the intensity but could not find the back of the net. Cydney Cone was in goal with 7 saves. “Obviously this is not the way we want to start 2012 but we have a great group who is learning and adjusting to the level of play and we are confident in their ability to earn results this season.”
