Many of the science courses offered at Butte College have some type of prerequisite or recommended preparation. These prerequisites are used to establish a student’s readiness for the content to be covered within a particular course. 

If you would like to enroll in one or more of these science courses and feel that you can satisfy prerequisites with coursework completed at an institution other than Butte College, you must first complete a Butte College Placement and Prerequisite Evaluation form and submit it to the Assessment Office along with appropriate documentation (transcripts, grade reports, etc.)

BIOL 11 – Zoology
     Butte College Prerequisites:
          *BIOL 1 (Intro. to Biology) or one year H.S. biology or AP Exam
          *CHEM 110 (Intro. Chemistry) or one year H.S. chemistry (w/lab)

BIOL 12 – Botany
     Butte College Prerequisites:
          *BIOL 1 (Intro. to Biology) or one year H.S. biology or AP Exam
