Mission Statement
Learning Communities . . .
1) offer students a learning experience that builds academic and social connections, strengthens basic skills, and position them as contributing members of a college community,
2) offer faculty an intentional learning partnership that integrates disciplines and increases collegiality.
Butte College’s Learning Communities intentionally provide opportunities for students to connect to our academic community.
Courses are linked through dual-enrollment; students enrolled in one course are also enrolled in the linked course.
We recruit instructors who are committed to helping students succeed. Through modeling, active participation, and curriculum development, these instructors challenge students to make connections amongst disciplines, encourage students to work together, and often create opportunities for students to contribute to campus life.
